Versus Systems (Peacetime/Pre-Battle) - An interdimensional pirate, Ruby first featured in a crossover game, and all her subsequent appearances have taken place in crossovers also. Due to this, she's met many strange, different fighters. Once every other week, she can put that expertise to good use, granting her linked merc use of one of the following fighting game system mechanics chosen at random, granted as a passive to the linked merc for the rest of the week. 

X-Factor (Passive) - Once during the fight, this mercenary will be able to use Level 3 X-Factor once during the match. The fighter will cancel any attack they were using, gain a +200% bonus to all attributes for 20 seconds and will regenerate 25% of their maximum health during this time.

Parry (Passive) - The linked mercenary may freely parry as seen in Street Fighter 3, observing all gameplay mechanics involving invulnerability, though their ability to do so will be limited by their reaction speeds and awareness of the attacks. 

C-c-c-c-combo Breaker! (Passive) - The mercenary will be able to be use any named special attack they can use as a combo breaker, as seen in Killer Instinct. They may use this attack at any time during the fight to interrupt any attacks against them and instantly use the technique, if they have the necessary resources to do so. 

V-Ism (Passive) - Once during the fight, the fighter will leave staggered damaging after images trailing behind them, similar in nature to those in Street Fighter Alpha 3, for 15 seconds. 

Danger Time (Passive) - The first time one of the mercenary's attacks connects with an enemy's, all fighters in the match will frozen in place for six seconds, and the two fighters will become aware that the next successful strike against one another will be fatal, KOing the fighter struck by it regardless of its power. After three seconds, they will be allowed to move freely once again, and after another three seconds, all other fighters will regain the ability to act once again.


UPGRADES:


(Ability Upgrade; 5 EXP)

The passive gained may be pre-selected for an additional two weeks of recharge.

(New Start of Battle and Trigger: 15 EXP)

Gold Burst (Start of Battle) - Once every 4 weeks, Ruby Heart's linked mercenary will use a Gold Burst, hitting a random opposing post-rosters mercenary and knocking them prone. Ruby Heart's linked mercenary will start the match with the ability to use their any single attack or technique available to them once as though they had any needed resources, without spending them or suffering any exertion to use the attack, once during the match.

Blue Burst (Trigger) - During rosters, if Ruby Heart's linked mercenary has used Gold Burst this wartime and would be hit by an enemy start of battle effect, the burst becomes a Blue Burst instead. Gold Burst is cancelled and goes on a 4 week recharge, but in exchange, a random enemy ability targeting Ruby Heart's linked mercenary is cancelled and goes on a 1 week recharge. Repeat this process until the total cooldown of all cancelled abilities exceeds 4 weeks, or no enemy abilities targeting the linked mercenary remain. All enemy mercs who had abilities cancelled as a result of this trigger start the match knocked down.


(New Pre-Battle; 15 EXP)


Snapback (Pre-Battle) - Once every 4 weeks, if Ruby Heart's linked merc is rostered, one randomly selected post rosters enemy mercenary will be removed post rosters and replaced by another rosterable fighter. Any Start of Battle abilities used by or against the mercenary will be cancelled without going on recharge, and if no enemy mercenaries are available as replacements, this ability does nothing and goes on a one week recharge.
